The subscription is the only source of income
Copreo has one price and one plan: €2.99 a month including VAT (Terms § 6 (1)). You take out and cancel the subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play (Terms § 6 (2)). Every feature is included; there are no add-on packages and no free version paid for in some other way.
There are two ways to try Copreo, both free and neither turning into a subscription on its own:
- Free trial month: New users get one free month with the full range of features after registering, without adding a payment method (Terms § 6 (5)).
- Launch test phase: In addition, a time-limited test phase runs under its own terms of participation (Terms § 6 (6)).
Details on the price, the free month and the test phase are on the page How much does Copreo cost?
What we don't do
Each point refers to the place in the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy where it is set out.
- No ads, no tracking in the app. The app uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services (Privacy Policy, section 12).
- No advertising or tracking cookies on the website. No usage profiles are created (Privacy Policy, section 14.8).
- No selling of data. Personal data only goes to the recipients listed in section 6 of the Privacy Policy, and only as far as needed for the respective purpose. Data buyers or advertising partners are not among them.
- No brokering of contracts, loans or financial products. Under Terms § 2 (3), Copreo is solely a tool for information and organisation; the scope of services in § 2 (1) includes no brokerage. Commissions are therefore not a source of income.
- No advice. Copreo does not provide investment, financial, tax or legal advice (Terms § 2 (3)).
- No payments. You cannot make payments through the app (Terms § 2 (4)).
- No automated decisions about you. Automatic categorisation is for your information only; there is no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR (Privacy Policy, section 11).
Which service providers we pay
Part of the subscription price goes to service providers Copreo cannot run without. The full list is in section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
- Account access: BANKSapi Technology GmbH in Munich, a payment service provider licensed and supervised by BaFin. Copreo only uses it to retrieve account data and never initiates payments (Privacy Policy, section 6.1).
- Hosting: Backend and database run at Netcup GmbH in data centres in Germany (Privacy Policy, section 6.2).
- Add-on services in the USA: A few add-on services run through providers in the USA, such as AI-assisted merchant categorisation (only with your consent) and push notifications. Which ones, and what is transmitted, is set out in section 7 of the Privacy Policy and summarised on the page Is Copreo safe?
- App stores: Apple and Google process the subscription purchase (Terms § 6 (2)).
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free version of Copreo?
No. New users get a free trial month; after that, the features require a subscription (Terms § 6 (5)). For the market launch there is also a free test phase with limited places.
Does Copreo earn money from my contracts or subscriptions?
No. Copreo detects recurring payments and subscriptions, but it does not broker contracts and receives no commissions. You cancel or switch with the provider yourself.
Why does Copreo cost money when other apps are free?
Because the subscription is the only source of income. Free apps can be funded through ads, commissions or partner offers; Copreo does without them and is paid directly by its users instead.
